Hardware/Miscellaneous

Second hand machines

These machines have mainly come from schools and businesses. As such there are various brandings, labels, markings, scratches, occassional broken front sliding doors etc. on the cases. All machines have been generally cleaned and air dusted inside to get rid of most of the dust, however they have not been meticulously cleaned as this would take a long time and increase the prices considerably. Any machines which have PC cards are usually 486 cards, but as these are basically worthless, their value has not been taken into account (and the necessary software is not guaranteed to be on the drive).

A keyboard, mouse and mains cable are included. Single slice machines do not have backplanes; two slice machines have four slot backplanes. I can take e.g. ethernet cards out if not required. There is a three month warranty on these machines and they are supplied 'as seen', so to speak. Please ask if you have queries.

Recommended upgrades: The hard drives are old, but they do work. A new drive would be a good idea (which also means the machine gets a better clean)! Also, add more memory as required and upgrade to 2MB VRAM (£30.00) as stocks last. Risc PCs will need a backplane (£5.00) if you want to plug podules in.

These prices are for the cards only, which usually have software on board. I have software which can be emailed for the Calligraph, PowerTec and Cumana cards but they are possibly not the most up to date versions.
